Five Habits that often Lead to Hair Troubles

Environment, which is increasingly becoming a cause of concern, impacts our body, both within and without. Surrounded by air saturated with pollutants, even as one cannot ‘breathe easy’, it also impacts hair and skin alike. It becomes nearly impossible to maintain healthy & lustrous locks. Adding to this, our tight schedules limit us from spending quality time on grooming our hair. Hair loss, hair damage, split ends, dryness, and lack shine or smoothness are common causes of concern. Every time when we wash our hair, we find a chunk of hair settling on the drainage point, which creates stress & tension.

Stress and hair loss are like day & night, when one falls the other follows.

No amount of coconut oil, home treatments and hair care can reverse the tables completely until and unless, we make certain changes in our lifestyle choices.
The Bun tale
The weather can really be a bummer and ask us to tie our hair in a ponytail or a bun. While tying the hair up the nape is a relief from the scorching sun, beware, as too much of this can lead to hair loss along with acting as a hindrance in hair growth as well. When we pull the hair back tightly into a rubber band, the hair either starts breaking from the root or from the point they are being held by the elastic.

This is one of the common mistakes we make because we are in a hurry to complete our to-do list for the day. We use the brush or comb our hair when they are wet, which aggravates the hair loss pattern. The hair cuticles swell when they are wet and stretch the hair out, any extra pressure on them at this fragile time can lead to hair fall. You can simply apply conditioner in the shower and comb them out rather than detangling them after or wait for them do get dry. Also, check the brush or comb and always use a comb with big teeth.
Parlor Troubles
When was the last time you visited a salon for a haircut or a hair spa? Our hair are like our delicates, they need to be handled with care. Just like body spa, the hair also needs nourishment and good food. Even though you perform all those home remedies, still a regular cut and spa treatments are required to maintain good hair health. Also, lack of haircuts can give rise to split ends, which can travel up the hair shaft and cause breakage.

Shampoos & conditioner lie in the middle of the line where a step forward might be too much, whereas a step backwards can be too less. In order to create that perfect balance, we need to look at our manes and decide whether our shampoo is doing any good or not. If the hair feels too dry the shampoo might be sucking all the moisture, which can worsen the situation. The sulfates and other harsh ingredients can cause damage, therefore adds more water than shampoo to create lather. Avoid Sudsing!
The Toolkit
We put our hair through a lot of trauma because of the styling desires like coloring, straightening, curling etc. These tools are aggravating the damage more than anything. Once in a blue moon is till fine, but you could simply blow dry your hair with a blow dryer at home with the help of different brushes or using overnight braids to create waves, is always a better idea.
These simple ways and steps can minimize the hair troubles in no time. Try them!
